The Earth's night side seen from orbit, with city lights glowing along a coastline and the solar panels and hull of a spacecraft in the foreground.

Today we are releasing three changes to how you work with Gamma Earth. S2DR3 now runs from inside QGIS, with no code. Professional Plans can be bought and topped up online. A new platform shows what you have processed and how many credits you have used. We have also reworked our Help Center.

The release also changes how free access works. If you have been using Gamma Earth for free, the last section explains what is different.

S2DR3 inside QGIS

The QGIS plugin is our first visual interface. Until now, running S2DR meant working in a notebook, with the REST API or with the Python SDK. The plugin brings super-resolution into the tool many of you already use every day.

How it works:

  1. Draw or select a polygon over your area of interest.
  2. Choose the date and the product: multispectral, true colour, NDVI or infrared pseudo-colour.
  3. Submit. The super-resolved GeoTIFF loads straight into your QGIS project.
The Gamma Earth S2DR3 QGIS plugin open over a QGIS project: an API key field, New job and Credits tabs, area of interest and Sentinel-2 date search options, and a log reading Raster loaded and Job used 14 credits. Behind it, the super-resolved result is loaded on the map inside the yellow outline of the area of interest.
The plugin in QGIS: choose an area and a date, submit, and the super-resolved raster loads onto the map. The log reports the credits the job used.

The plugin currently supports S2DR3. S2DR4, with cloud and haze removal, remains available through our other access methods.

Self-service Professional Plans

When you need more than the free allowance, you can now buy credits online and start processing right away, with no quote.

  • Top up when you need to. Credit packs are available at checkout. Larger packs have a lower price per credit.
  • One balance everywhere. The same credits work in QGIS, Colab, the REST API and the Python SDK, for both S2DR3 and S2DR4.
  • Credits valid for 24 months from the purchase date.
  • Private outputs. Gamma Earth does not publish them or use them as examples.

One credit processes 1 km² for one date in standard regions; in some regions it covers more. Prices and regions are on the pricing page.

Your usage in one place

The new platform shows what you have processed, whichever tool you ran the job from. The dashboard brings together:

  • your credit balance and total area processed, with a button to add credits
  • every job, with its date, Sentinel-2 scene, status and area
  • your monthly usage in km²
  • a map of where you have processed, filterable by country and date range
The Dashboard page of the Gamma Earth platform: a credit balance gauge with an Add credits button, a table of completed jobs, a bar chart of monthly usage in square kilometres, and a map of the processed area.
The Dashboard: credit balance, jobs, monthly usage in km² and a map of where you have processed.

You can also manage your plan, billing and API keys from the same place. Sign in at app.gamma.earth.

The Billing page of the Gamma Earth platform: billing details, a current balance of 7,210 credits with View history and Add credits buttons, and a table of invoices.
The Billing page: your credit balance with a shortcut to add credits, your billing details and every invoice.

A reworked Help Center

We have reorganised and extended our Help Center. It now has a guide for each way to run S2DR (Google Colab, the QGIS plugin, the REST API and the Python SDK), plus background on how the S2DR models work.

What changes if you have been using Gamma Earth for free

Free access continues under the Base Plan, but it now has explicit limits. Until now, S2DR demo on Google Colab could be used without a registered account for non-commercial, testing and evaluation purposes, with a limit of 20 jobs. From now on:

  • A registered account is required. Anonymous use ended on 1 October 2026. If you used S2DR before August 2026, sign in and select “Migrate my account”.
  • 75 free credits every month. Unused free credits expire at the end of the month and do not roll over.
  • Access through Google Colab and the QGIS plugin. The REST API and the Python SDK are part of the paid plans.
  • Public previews. Previews of outputs processed on the Base Plan are publicly available on the web, and we may show them in a public gallery or in marketing. Each output keeps the visibility of the plan it was processed on, so process confidential areas on a Professional or Enterprise Plan.

How credits and plans work together

  • Buying credits moves your account from the Base Plan to a Professional Plan.
  • While you hold purchased credits, they are used before your free monthly credits.
  • Your account returns to the Base Plan 30 days after your purchased credits run out.

The full terms are in our Fee Policy.

Try it and tell us

Every output is super-resolved to 1 m, with 10 spectral bands, for any location and any date since 2018. If you try the plugin or the new plans, we would like to hear what works for you and what does not: info@gamma.earth.
